OPTICS is the branch of physics which deals with study of light.
and it is further divided into sub branches as follows-

 OPTICS- study of light

  1. Geometrical optics(Ray optics) - study of images formed by light                                                             through various instruments.
  2. Wave optics - Study of wave nature of light
  3. Physical optics - study of interaction of Light with materials at                                       microscopic level
